Approach

Brett Nelson has been shooting digital since 2001 and photographing full time since 2011, with years of training under Jerry Ghionis. The day is covered as it happens, then built on with lighting and posing that actually flatters the people in front of the camera.

Only a limited number of weddings are taken each year. Photographers who shoot a hundred weddings a season cannot give every couple the same attention, and the images take far longer to come back. Fewer bookings is what keeps both of those right.

Every frame is retouched by hand rather than run through a filter, with skies left the colour they were. Full wedding collections include a custom album and the images on USB, with a second photographer and video available, and a studio in west Fresno for portraits, headshots and consultations.
